The Challenger exploded, Chernobyl in Russia had their meltdown, Hands across America, Top Gun was in the theater, Statue of Liberty was given a face list, Voyager (small 2 man airplane) flies around the world on a single tank of gas, Iron Contra scandal...

The only thing I can think of is not too happy. The space shuttle Challenger blew up after launch on January 28, 1986

Seriously though, the new color is much easier on the eye.
