Subject: 80's videos
Since I don't get any good music channels, I never get to see any 80's videos (once in a blue moon, maybe the odd video clip). I'm very interested to know what your favorite 80's music videos were and describe them to me.
P.S. I recently saw the "Who Can It Be Now?" video by Men At Work. Can somebody tell me what was up with the lead singer's eye in that video? It was pulsating, but it was very cool...

I think Colin is blind in one eye, so perhaps they took liberties with its presentation...
(Seeing as someone else mentioned "Cherry Pie", I suppose I should take the thread to its ultimate... "Girls On Film"... thank you and good night.)
Subject: Re: Best 80s Videos
Some of the best videos in the 80s were done by Pat Benatar, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Olivia Newton-John, Sheena Easton, and The Eurythmics, among others. However, I feel the best video of all time comes from the 90s: Carmen Electra's "2-4-6-8"!

UB40's "Red, Red Wine" is an excellent video. I'm not much into the glitter and glamour (with some exceptions) of overproduction and convoluted storytelling. The story was simple and the accompanying song was a classic redone in a way that it was like hearing it for the first time. Other videos from that time that I like are "How Soon Is Now?" by The Smiths and Visage's "Fade To Grey."

Don't know about the Men at Work video and the eye thing, but I cracked-up when I read your question! I had thought the same question for some time.
My favorite vids are:
Everything form Duran Duran, A-Ha's Take on Me, The Police's Wrapped Around Your Finger, Band-Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas Time?, USA for Africa's We Are The World, Fleetwood Mac's Hold On Me, and the ever-so-excellent Human League's Keep Feeling Fascination (Loved their make-up).

I didn't describe them because it would take a very long time to describe each of these videos and we could never do them justice. Another thing is that everyone has their own unique experience when watching a video in reference to impressions, perceptions and overall opinions.
