Subject: METS rally song

Written By: 80s on 4/27/2001 at 3:44 p.m.

A relative was asking me about the title of the song the Mets play when they rally. As I've never heard the song, he described it to me, but it wasn't enough for me to identify it. He said that it was a song from the early 80s, synthesizer/science fiction sounding . . . and that I would know it if I heard it.

Does anyone out there who watches baseball have any idea what this song might be?

The Mets re-did their original rally song, "Meet the Mets", in the 80's to give it a more contemporary sound. They still play this verison during the postgame show on the radio.

I haven't had a chance to watch the Mets this season, but I do remember that they were using that awful "Who Let the Dogs Out" as their rally song by the end of last season.

I just had to comment on that awful "dog" song, what the heck is that all about? I mean come on! Did these people actually sit down and write this song? I can see it now
"ok, how about 'who let the dogs out' and then we will bark like morons"
"oh yeah thats good, then we can say it over and over again until we drive everyone absolutly insane"

I guess it goes back to everything we said about 90's artists covering good 80's tunes, but this is ridiculous! I mean lyrics people LYRICS!
And has anyone ever seen them perform? I think I watched it on new years, the guys get down on the floor and pretend they are lifting their legs to "do their buisness" come on, have a little taste!
