Subject: Paul Davis turns 53

Written By: james martin on 4/25/2001 at 9:45 a.m.

I just want to say Happy Birthday to singer/songwriter Paul Davis who turns 53 today. I don't know where he is now or if he'll ever record again; but, He left his mark in music in the 80's with songs like "Do Right", "Cool Night", "65 Love Affair", along with 2 songs he recorded from movies: "It Takes Two To Tango" from "The Karate Kid" & "If We Can Get Through This Night" from "About Last Night". He also written songs for Dan Seals, Marie Osmond, Tanya Tucker, Ronnie Milsap among others, He survived a shooting incident in July of '86 and never talked about publicly to show you that he's a very, very private man. He did survived it, of course. It's a shame that he's not making any music or we don't know what he looks like now. I think with his incredible voice, great songwriting, & excellent harmonies, He may bring back the 'soft rock" sound that was popular in the early '80s. At this point, I don't think it will happen with the state of music today. Anyone agrees?
