Subject: The First Time I...

I just got finished watching VH1's "Behind the Music" special on Boy George and Culture Club (for the hundredth time), and it made me think of the first time that I ever saw Boy George. It was a cold, windy Saturday afternoon in late fall of '82, and I had just come home from the science fair at my junior high school. I sat down to watch Entertainment Tonight with my older sister, my mother and father, when they showed a clip of "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?". It was like seeing an alien giving birth, live on television!! But, both my mother and father actually loved Boy George and Culture Club's music, and I began to see pop music in a completely different light. Needless to say, pop music was never the same after the Boy came around...
