Subject: 80s Happy Songs

Written By: MDC on 4/18/2001 at 12:30 p.m.

What songs from the 80s bring an instant smile to your face? My list of 80s happy songs would have to include:

1) "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina & The Waves
2) "Goodbye to You" by Scandal
3) "New Song" by Howard Jones
4) "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) by Whitney Houston
5) "Pop Goes the World" by Men Without Hats

Whenever I'm feeling sad or depressed, I can just pop one of these happy tunes into my CD player, and I'm instantly smiling. Works better that Prozac...

Oh what the heck...this is my two cents. And YES, I know some of them are anything BUT "happy songs".

Oh Yea-Yello
Salsbury hill-Peter Gabriel
Promised you a miracle-Simple minds
Rain in the summertime-The Alarm
Save it for later-English beat
Heres where the story ends-The Sundays
Shy-Peter Murphy
Love will tear us apart-Joy Division
Slave to love-Roxy music
(and of course)...Just like heaven-(if you dont know, i'm not gonna tell ya)

I could go on and on all day...Nope...90s music just doesnt have it.

Lots of good stuff there Exair. "Reading, Writing & Arithmatic" is a great record, but my favorite song is You're Not the Only One I Know. I know, the question wasn't to do with favorites, but...
