Subject: RE: Name of a toy

Written By: rip jeans on 4/12/2001 at 4:06 a.m.

I'm not having any luck at all finding the name of a toy that I saw in the 80's. I was told it is still made today, but I don't buy toys.

Basically it was like a small notepad that I think was gray and had a thin clear plastic sheet over it and included a small plastic pen. You wrote on the notepad with this pen (no ink obviously), and when you wanted to clear it, you just lifted up the plastic as if changing sheets, and it cleared off the writing. Then you just dropped the plastic over the gray board and wrote again, then lifted it again to clear it.

This might be a bad description but this is all I can remember about it. I think the pen was usually red and it was just a piece of plastic.

Anybody know the name or manufacturer?

Could it be called Magnet Doodles? This names sounds familiar to the toy you just described.

No, Magnet Doodles had the "magnetic lead" that followed the magnetized pencil. See my previous post for the name of the toy and maker.
