Hi, my name is Shelbie Lynn. I'm a television reporter in Fort Myers, FL. I'm doing a story on how dancing has changed throught the years and I'm looking for people with any 50's-90's dance show's on tape...such as, "American Bandstand," "Club MTV," "Solid Gold," "Dance Party USA," etc. If anyone has any of these shows, or other dance on tape, please let me know...thanks so much.

I don't know what aaron is talking about. media Play is the cheapest place to get anything. All other places but Media Play charge like 16-18 bucks for a CD. Media Play is 14 bucks. Anyway Media Play is a huge store that sells nothing but music, movies, video games, and books.

The rather small "Media Play" chain is part of the Musicland/Sam Goody behemoth - it's essentially their equivalent of a music & video "superstore", Britton/Skyclad. They overexpanded a bit in the early to mid '90s, and as a result, were forced to close quite a few of their less-profitable stores several years ago. Obviously, that's what happened where aaron lived at the time. And we all know what a rip-off Musicland/Sam Goody's prices are - so quite frankly, the going-out-of-business tactics described by aaron at that one Media Play store in his city sound quite believable to me!

BTW, I find it hard to believe that Media Play would have any videos containing old episodes of "Solid Gold", "Club MTV", etc., as you claim. To the best of my knowledge, none of those shows have ever had any of their episodes released commercially on video to date - "American Bandstand" might be the only one. (Where's Aj when we need him??? LOL!)
