Subject: Pulling my hair out over obscure song, HELP!!!
Hi.
There was this gritty dance tune that came out in very early 80s. It was popular in Detroit as it got heavy airplay; I have NO idea who performed it or the name of the song. I don't even know the lyrics. I just remember that the end of the bridge and fadeout went "na-na-na na-na-na-na yeah (YEAH) rock rock." In fact the hook of the song was "rock rock." For you musicians out there, it carried this Em9 riff. The band had a kind of post-punk Clash-meets-Was Not Was feel. I wish I could be more explicit; the only other thing I recall is a spoken intro which referred to an old man sitting on his porch.
If anyone recalls that one, I'd be eternally grateful.
