GREAT POST!
I also like "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes, but this song came out as a hit in early 84. It seems to me that "The Look of Love" was also 84(I also love this song), but I'll have to find go back and look. Here are some of my favs from 82.

1. "Make a move on me" Olivia Newton John

2. "Harden my Heart" and "Find another Fool" by Quarterflash

3. "Only the Lonely" The Motels

4. "I keep forgetting(every time your near)" Michael McDonald

5. "I can't go for that" Hall and Oats

6. "Waiting for a girl like You" Foreigner

7. "Open Arms" Journey

8."Shake it Up" The Cars

9. "Who can it be Now" Men at Work

10. "Leather and Lace" Stevie Nicks and Don Henley and "Edge of Seventeen" Nicks

Yeah, you're right about "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" not being an '82 song, it's actually '83. So let me revise the '82 list by adding:

"Abracadabra" by The Steve Miller Band

Now, for 1983:

"Here Comes The Rain Again" by The Eurythmics
"The Beach" by New Order
"Owner Of A Lonely Heart" by Yes
"Everything Counts" by Depeche Mode
"Time (Clock Of The Heart)" by Culture Club

You're choices are excellent, especially "Only The Lonely," "Waiting For A Girl Like You," and "I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)."
