Subject: Class of?

Okay everyone, humor me

Which year did you all graduate from high school, and what was some of the music played at your senior prom?

I'm class of '83 and I remember a lot of Rick James; REO Speedwagon; Journey; Earth, Wind & Fire; and Cool & The Gang.

Class of...okay so I'm the Class of '01, but I love my 80's and I'm never gonna give them up (Rick Astley...!!!)...anyway, you people are very lucky to graduate in the 80's with great music. I love hearing your stories.

class of '91 (what am I, the youngest guy here? and I run the site, kinda funny)

anyways.. the prom theme was some song by Extreme, More Than Words I think.. the stuff I actually remember though was all much older.. "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin (the runner up in votes for prom theme, too bad it lost out), Billy Idol's version of "Mony Mony" which everyone shot the rude lyrics to.. and "The Twist" but I don't think it was the original..

no Chicago or Duran Duran though.. which I was heavy into at the time (don't really like Chicago that much anymore.. not sure why, just rarely play them now)

Class of 91 here, but of course that meant all my growing happened in the 80s. Would love to hear 80s synth pop and new wave make a big come back but not in a millenium way just good old sounding tunes like Rio(Duran Duran) or You Spin Me Round(Dead or Alive) just something to remind me music can be fun again and not about 12 year olds with big breasts who can barely lip synch

I'm probably the minority, but I never liked Chicago. I know lots of people my age did, but I just never developed a taste for their music.

Was it the one by The Fat Boys (featured backing from Chubby Checker?) I hadn't thought about that song in years.

no.. I hope not.. I don't really remember to be honest.. I'd ask someone I went to school with, but I haven't talked to anyone I went to high school with, since I went to high school. basically (I always considered that the only real benefit of graduating)
