Subject: jell-o recipe
In the 1980's there was a jell-o recipe that, if I remember correctly, you beat with a mixer and after it settled it turned into 2 or 3 layers. One was a frothy lighter colored layer and the other was a regular layer of jell-o. Was this regular jell-o and you added something or a special box Of jell-o? I am thinking it was a special jell-o.

I vaguely remember this product. Weren't there 3 layers as it settled? I went over to Jello's website and tried to find it listed in their history. No such luck.

It was just a recipe that could be made with any flavor of Jell-O. We still make it in the summer, in five layers of different colors so it makes rainbows when you cut it. I know you add half & half to the Jell-O, and when it sets, it sorta settles out leaving about half the Jell-O clear (colored but not "cloudy") and the half or so below it cloudy with the cream. Is that the effect you were thinking of? If so, I'll call tomorrow to get the exact recipe; I always make it with a friend so I've never actually written it down!

I don't know about that but the best Jello recipe is the Jello cake with Cool Whip frosting.

The recipie I make now is still on some of the boxes. You take half of the Jello, any flavor, and whip it with half of the Cool Whip. Then you put it in a grahm cracker pie crust and layer it into a three layer pie. with the other half of the Cool Whip on the top of the other 2 layers. Creamy, cool and yummy.
P.S. also works with pudding.
