Subject: Help with song name and group
I think it was early eighties and I don't remember all the words but the chorus went somthing like this:
It isn't fair
I've had enough
Now I want my share
Can't you see..
Anyone remember it?

Its called "What About Me" by Moving Pictures. Its from the 1982 album Days Of Innocence. Oddly enough, and for no apparent reason I know of, the song was re-released in 1989 and was a moderate hit a 2nd time around that year. I don't know if the album has ever been released on CD, but the song could be on an 80's comp somewhere.

Moving Pictures' Winter of '83 hit, "What About Me", became a moderate hit here in the U.S. for a second time in the Fall of '89 because that year, Top 40 radio stations here in America went through a phase where they were looking to "revive" past '80s hits that it was generally felt should've done better the first time around. (It was a trend that pretty much lasted during '89 only.) Many stations/DJs dug through their old playlists hoping to be the first to uncover that one "gem", and attempt to turn it into a smash. This was due in part to the fact that Top 40 radio had begun to grow a bit stale by the late '80s, w/ mainly dance and rap dominating the pop charts...
As you may recall, other examples of songs that got a second shot included "When I'm With You" by Sheriff in the Winter of '89 (originally a minor hit in the Spring of '83), "Where Are You Now?" by Synch in the Spring of '89 (originally a minor hit in the Spring of '86), "Into the Night" by Benny Mardones in the Summer of '89 (originally a big hit in the Summer of '80), and "Send Me an Angel" by Real Life in the Summer of '89 (originally a moderate hit in the Winter of '84).
So naturally, as the new airplay began to create a demand, the record labels who owned these recordings decided to ca$h in by re-releasing all of the above songs (including "What About Me") as commercial singles, thus landing them on the pop charts for a second time. Some did much better the second time around ("When I'm With You", "Where Are You Now?"); others fell a little short of their original hit status ("Into the Night", "What About Me"). IMO, most of these "revived" songs were good picks - but hey, I already knew that, because w/ the exception of Synch, I'd already bought them all the first time around, LOL!
And for the record, "Days of Innocence" has never been re-issued on CD here in the U.S., but it does exist on CD as an import...
