Subject: Regis was wrong
Did anyone notice the question asked on the rock and roll celebrity "Millionaire" about which of the four choices had never written or co-written a #1 song? Choices - Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John or (now I can't remember the fourth). Answer was Bruce - huh? Did they forget "Blinded By The Light?"
Subject: By The Way...
When Bruce wrote the song he wrote the words "revved up like a deuce". (The word "deuce" is slang for a .22 caliber handgun) But when Manfred Mann sang it,he said something else entirely!

Yes I did, couldn't believe they did that. They are the ones who said WROTE or CO-WROTE, NOT sang. I guess they should do their homework next time. I wonder if they even know they screwed up?

Good call, Dave M - you're absolutely right! I, too, saw that episode of "...Millionaire" last night. The four choices were: A) Sting, B) Bruce Springsteen, C) Elton John, or D) Stevie Wonder. Gladys Knight was the contestant in the "hot seat" at the time. (As you know, w/ a little help from her friends, she ultimately picked Springsteen, and "...Millionaire" said she got it right.) I'll admit that when the q first came up on the screen, I immediately picked Springsteen as well - because of the four choices, unlike the other three, he was the only one who had never scored a #1 hit that he'd sung on HIMSELF. So at first, I fell into that trap, too. I think it was just poor wording on the part of the producers of "...Millionaire" - I doubt that Regis himself is to blame...
