Subject: I beg your pardon by KonKan
I've been searching for the great 80's dance song "I Beg Your Pardon" by KonKan, and haven't been able to find it, unfortunately. It was a great song, and I remember it being very popular in the clubs, circa 89. Also trying to find another 80's club forgotten classic "Boom! Boom! Boom! (Let's Go Back to My Room) by Paul LeKakis. Another forgotten classic is "Mind Over Matter" by E.D. Dailey. Anybody remember these songs or know where I can find copies???

Gosh, I remember all three very well. Kon Kan is available @ cdnow.com on the 1989 album "Move to Move." "Boom Boom" is available on some comps; just search under "Paul Lekakis." I actually have both of those on 12" vinyl (2nd time around actually...I traded Kon Kan to a friend a few years back but was fortunate to find another copy in better condition, and Paul Lekakis...let's just say don't EVER let anyone borrow your music that you don't know very well...you won't get it back (Hey, I was 15 at the time) but I found a "Virgin" copy a Tower a year later.)
No luck finding E.G. Daily's "Mind Over Matter"; if anyone finds this one let me know too. Been searching since 1987. I remember the song being featured in the movie "Summer School" with Mark Harmon & Courtney Thorne-Smith.
If you enjoy those club hits, check out these from the 80's:
Fun Fun - "Color My Love"
Mike Mareen - "Love Spy"
Ken Laszlo - "Tonight"
Michael Prince - "Dance Your Love Away"
Mark Imperial - "Shator Dance" (may be out of print)
My Mine - "Hypnotic Tango"
Laserdance - "Humanoid Invasion"
Alexander Robotnick - "Problemes d' Amour"
M & H Band - "Popcorn"
I have most of these now and drop a few in every week on my 80's night.
Good luck in your search.

Thanks, DJ Midas, you are simply an amazing wealth of information. I remember several of the above songs that you mentioned, my favorite is Mike Mareen's "Love Spy", which I have on a Thumpin' Bumpin' Disco CD. I also remember the E.G. Dailey song from the Summer School movie, and I've been searching for the sound track, but it's unavailable. Whenever I have a question in the future, I know you're the one to ask, Midas. Thanks again...

You're welcome. I don't know it all; there are many knowledgeable 80's music buffs that post to this messageboard (TX & 80'smusicfreak come to mind, among others). I recently had a rebirth of admiration/obsession for 80's ItaloDisco/NRG that I heard growing up. "Love Spy" is one of my favorites also. Bobby "O" and Patrick Cowley have some good stuff too.
I did notice that "Mind Over Matter" by E.G. Daily is for sale on 12" Single if you check out GEMM Music (link below).
BTW, (a little bit of useless trivia here), "Problemes D'Amour" by Alexander Robotnick was featured in the movie "National Lampoon's European Vacation" - it was the song played during the topless aerobics scene.

I found Kon Kan's "I Beg your Pardon" on an 80's compilation CD that is put out by Entertainment Weekly magazine. It also contains some other hard to find songs, like "Sidewalk Talk" by Jellybean and "Living in a box" by... Living in a box....
