Well, my group used to go to the Mall to shop, and hang out with friends. When we had no money we "hung out" either in front of the White Hen (a 24-hour convenience store somewhat like a 7-11) or on the stairs of the local elementary school. Movies were always a good thing. Everyone was there.

Since we went out almost every night I can't remember the tv shows, but the first few "Nightmare On Elm Street" and "Friday the 13th" movies were real big, as well as "Breakfast Club" "16 Candles" and the like.

Of course every summer we had "midnight Frisbee". Since we didn't have to get up for shcool in the morning, and most of us were too young to work past 10pm we would all gather in front of someone's house, (beginning at 10pm), and play Frisbee in the street and listen to the radio until we started to fall asleep. Since it was a dead-end street, and a parent was "watching" us, all the other parents had no problem with it.

Going to the Movies, to the Video Arcades (The rarely mentioned "Super Pac-Man" was cool!), going to the Discotheques and/or Dance Clubs - Those were definitely the -IN- Things to do back in the day.

Battlestar Galactica, The Greatest American Hero, Wonder Woman, The Incredible Hulk... Now those were some good TV shows!!! Dallas was even cool for a while. Friday Night Videos was a ritual.

MTV was actually damn cool back when when it was almost all videos, 24 hours a day, like they claimed. Their game show, Remote Control, was a blast. Then in the late 80's - early 90's MTV went to hell in a handbasket!!!

Nickelodeon was cool then too. Just like MTV it crapped out when they did away with shows like You Can't do That On Television, Double Dare, reruns of oldies but goodies like: My Three Sons, The Anne Sothern Show, Green Acres, The Monkees, The Donna reed Show, etc, etc.

What a shame. I miss the 80's soooooo muuuuuuch.

Actually, no. I was very fortunate to have been related to actual owners of a couple of these. And then, through their connections got in to all of the others! Sadly, these discos/dance clubs died along with the them.

In Philadelphia, there were a few dance clubs for teens. One was called the Electric Playground. Another was called Mardi Gras. There were a few more, I can't remember. There was a teen danceshow in the 80s called "Dancing on Air" that my friends used to dance on. The show then went on USA Network as "Dance Party USA". I remember they used to have the Jets and other 80s pop groups on! It was fun...Everyone wore lace gloves and hair bands and other stuff. Our hair was ENORMOUS!!!! LOL!!! There were also teen nights at Rock clubs, one called the Empire Rock Club. The 80s hair band Cinderella used to play there. We also hung out at the Mall alot--it was a cool place! We used to drive around the mall parkin lot playing dance music and old 80s rap, like Beastie Boys, Eric B, FatBoys, RunDMC, etc!!! Isn't that funny now?????
