Your "mystery song" is most likely "Take My Love" by Melba Moore, a fairly big hit on the r&b chart here in the U.S. in the Fall of '81 (it failed to cross over to the pop charts). And guess what??? The song was written by - yep - Kashif! It was off her 1981 album, "What a Woman Needs". Unfortunately, the album is long out-of-print, and has never been re-issued on CD here in the U.S. However, there is a 1995 hits collection of hers that's still currently available, titled "This is It - The Best of...", which includes "Take My Love"...

Many thanks for your effort. I thought of that too and I bought that "Best of.."CD (based on the name of the song) before and imagine my dissapointment.
"That" original chorus still rings in my head...
Thanks anyway!
