Subject: 80's footwear
Hello to you all out there. Calling all girls of the 80's! What shoes do you remember thinking you were hot to trot wearing back in those good old days? Or any kind of footwear which you simply loved and maybe still have? I'm researching a series called 'I love the 1980's' and would be grateful for any footwear related memories you may have!
Cheers Nicola.

I remember my favorite shoes being LA Gear Brats. They were a white leather hi-top with velcro across the top of the foot and usually came with 2 sets of shoelaces. They were named Brats because the tounge of the shoe was designed to stick out. I really miss those great shoes. You cant find them anymore.

I spent half my time in Elf Boots, (soft, suede leather with fringe) and the other half in Granny Boots/Shoes. I still have my Granny shoes, though I've had the heels and soles replaced umpteen times and even had a split in the leather stitched up. And if I had a nickel for every time I had to replace the shoelaces.....

In early highschool (1983) we started wearing saddle shoes (the black & white or red & white '50s-looking shoes) and penny loafers were really cool. I was a cheerleader and we had to wear "Pumas" for our tennisshoes. Fall of '87 I remember loving the boots that laced all the way up.
