Subject: Sheena Easton
Does anybody know if Sheena Easton has a Greatest Hits album that contains the song, "The Lover In Me"? I realize that she has many Greatest Hits albums, but that song seems to be missing on all of them. Don't ask me why. It was one of her biggest hits. If anybody can tell me of a CD or an import that I may have missed, please notify me. Thanks.

For the record, the reason you won't find Easton's 1989 hit, "The Lover in Me", on any of her domestic (U.S.) hits collections, despite that song being one of her biggest, is because she had just signed w/ a new record label, MCA, at that point in her career. Previously, she had recorded for EMI here in the States, and scored all of her other hits w/ that label. Therefore, any domestic compilations of her hits will contain her EMI hits only, unless the label were to lease the rights to "The Lover in Me" from MCA, which of course wouldn't come free. That is also why you won't find her other big MCA hit, 1991's "What Comes Naturally", on any domestic "Greatest Hits" collections, either - and she didn't score enough hits while w/ MCA to warrant them assembling a Sheena Easton collection of their own. So as TX pointed out, your only solution will be expensive imports, I'm afraid...

Thanks for explaining that to me. I had no idea that she had changed record labels. It makes perfect sense now. Many times I see artists with Greatest Hits albums, and one song that I like may not be on it. Changing record labels could be one factor. I'm thinking that I'll have to settle for one of the compilations. Thank you for your help.
