Ok, at the start of the music video craze there was one that came out that blew me away, the only thing I can remember of this was the singer was spinning around in the air and that half of his face was painted white and the other half was painted black. I know it is not much to go on, but please help if you can. Thank you...

Huge stab in the dark, but was it possibly "Shock the Monkey" by Peter Gabriel? Black and white, film reel unwinding, monkey screaming?

: unwinding, monkey screaming? Thanx for the reply, but no it is not Shock the Monkey. Some more that I remember is the guy is spinning against a cloudy blue background w/ lightning. I mean this video came out early. Thanks again....

The only other video I can remember of a guy with a half white / half black face was Roger Hodgson (of Superstramp fame) for his song "Had A Dream (in the Eye of the Storm)".
Some of the words go:
"Had a dream....it was time....to be a witness at the scene of the crime."
