Subject: 80's top 40 songs:remixed versions
i remember a song in 1987 called "i will be there"by glass tiger. if you remember the song, when it was released, the single version is different from the album. the original version features bryan adams on guest vocals. he sings the line,"i'm calling from the mountains" and screams the word,"yeah!" in the guitar solo. but, when the single was released, bryan's vocals was editied out, and alanfrew (lead singer of the group) ended up singing bryan's line, "i'm calling from the mountains" and "oh! when you called my name". it probably hurt the song because it hit #34 on the pop chart and at the same time, bryan had a song called "in the heat of the night" from "into the fire" not one of his best albums of that decade. that song hit #6. maybe both bryan's former record company and glass tiger's as well didn't want to compete with each other. but either way, it's still a good song. what do you think?

I don't have the album, but I recall Bryan Adams voice on Glass Tigers "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)". I have only heard it on the radio so I'm not sure if it was the single or off the album.
Bryan Adams is listed in the credits of the album Thin Red Line from 86 (as vocals), both "I Will Be There" and "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" are on that album. Don't know why they would edit Adams voice out of one song, and not the other.

I've only heard one version of the song (the one on the Greatest Hits album), and I believe it's the one without Adams. Though, from the sound of it he worked on a couple of other songs with GT as well (either that or someone in the band sounds exactly like it). It's one of my favorite songs on the album, next to Thin Red Line (of which I am actively looking for extended version mixes/remixes).
