Subject: I'm famous everybody!!

Written By: Laura Palmer on 7/4/2000 at 9:32 p.m.

ChuckyG just posted the pictures I sent him of me in the 80s on the visitor's gallery! Apparently, I'm the only one who's sent him any pictures in the 2 years he's had the gallery up!! Oh, btw, my real name is Lori Jill. Laura Palmer is my alter ego, she's the dead prom queen they found "wrapped in plastic" on Twin Peaks. Anyway, check it out!!

Peace,
LP

Laura Palmer? Ha! I knew you got that name from "Twin Peaks." I only saw that show a few times back when it was on, though I've heard it was really cool. I wish some cable station would start showing reruns of it. The reason I didn't pay too much attention to it when it was on was because I thought it was another prime time soap opera like "Dallas" or "Dynasty." I really regret that now. Is there anyone else who agrees with me that "Dallas" and "Dynasty" are two parts of the 80s that were gladly buried when the decade ended?

Actually, you are in luck! The cable channel Bravo! The Film and Arts network has been showing the entire series since Febuary every Friday night at 7:00 pm. I have since taped every single episode so far!! It was a soap opera, however, it was also part sci-fi and comedy. Very unusual for it's day (1990). It is one of my all-time favorite shows. I guess you could call it "Dallas" meets "The X-Files"! Believe it or not, when I was a kid back in the 80s, I actually watched "Dynasty" and "Dallas"!! I always loved looking at all the colorful, glitzy outfits the women wore. I think I actually watched the final episodes of both of those shows, but I can't remember....

You actually watched those horrible shows? Yuck! The shallow characters and cheesy acting always made me too nauseus to look at them. I mean, "Dallas" aand "Dynasty" were nothing more than a celebration of materialistic, superficial values. Come to think of it, that's what all prime time soaps are. And I can't stand any of them. Prime time soaps from the 90s are even worse. Just take a look at "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Melrose Place." At least "Dallas" was executed with some style and class.
