I'm currently in the process of creating an 80s fashion tip website, where you can get ideas to create an "80ish" look while still looking razor edge modern. Until then, I'll give a few pointers here to those who would be interested.
Dos:
crimp that hair!
use blue eyeshadow to the max!
wear big hoop earrings
accessorize with funky, glittery rubber bracelets
wear stilleto heels
pink lipstick
blazers
hot pink ANYTHING!
mix and match differnt color ie. turquise top w/hot pink pants
denim skirts
polka dots
studded belts
sophisticated looking hairstyles
for guys:
SKINNY TIES!!! Those are sooooo sexy!
"Miami Vice-ish" looking suits and shades
grow out that hair ala Tom Cruise in MI2 (That is so HOT!!)
DONT'S!!:
bell-bottoms
peasant tops
clunky high-heel shoes
anything with paisley prints
those dorky looking scarves in your hair!!
pigtails, baby barrettes, etc.
tiny sterling silver earrings
anything army green, brown, or cream colored
hair parted down the middle
anything that looks Marcia Brady-ish
I get alot of my 80s fashion ideas from The Go-Go's of course, and Mallory Keaton from "Family Ties". Be creative and create a Totally Awesome look!!

Of course it will! I'm not trying to show off or be conceited, but I really want to show the world how cool 80s styles were as compared with todays bare midriff/regurgitated 70s' kitsch look. Oh, I also HATE those dorky scarves that girls wear in their hair now! Blecchh!! No, I'm not going to wait around for the rest of the world, I'm a certified 80s fashion slave.
