Subject: Do they still sell crimping irons??

Written By: Lizzi on 6/19/2000 at 1:11 a.m.

Hello, I want to crimp people's hair for my 80's themed party, and was wonderinf if they still sell crimping irons anywhere? I saw some straitening irons, and I know they use to sell those with attachments for crimps/waves, but do they still sell those? I'm wishing I still had my old one (from the 80s), it had plates for crimping, waving, and straitening, but of course I only used the crimping plate!

Thanks, Lizzi

Hey... Just found an 80s birthday picture of me with crimped hair. I loved my crimping iron! I'm not sure exactly when this picture is from, I must be about 7-8, which means 88-89... Perfect picture for the 80s- I have my crimped hair, my Cabbage Patch Kid... What more could a kid want? :)

I have seen crimping irons recently in stores. They were the ones with straightening and crimping attachments. Back when my crimping iron was out of service I used to braid my hair in small braids and leave them in over night. When I took the braids out of my hair it had that distincive crimped look.
