Subject: If the 80s music does make a strong come back...
I think it should be called next phase.. just seeing that line in the Billy Joel lyrics to "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me" it just seems right..
It's the next phase, new wave, dance craze, anyways
it would at least be better than: "New New Wave" or "New Wave 2.0" (ugh I'm so sick of psuedo computer speak in everyday life)

Maybe not everyone's cup of tea I guess, but I write for a heavy metal mag and recently it's been like the 80s all over again. In the past few months I've received new release CDs from Motorhead, Alice Cooper, Dio, Venom, Destruction, Metal Church, Armored Saint, Jag Panzer, Artillery, Iron Maiden and more and guess what? Most of them sound pretty much like they did 12 - 15 years ago. There's also lots of new bands playing 80s style metal, which for some reason tends to get labelled "retro" or "Old School", borrowing from the alternative pop scene and punk I guess. Oh well.
