Subject: Meaning of "Pass The Dutchie" (Musical Y

Written By: Bruce on 3/29/1999 at 5:07 a.m.

Is anyone able to settle a bet I have with my flatmate over the meaning of the lyrics of "Pass The Dutchie" by Musical Youth. We both have our own ideas, but we were wondering if anyone here has the definitive answer ...

Thanks a lot,

Bruce

wrong, the original reggae song was about weed, the version by Musical Youth is about passing a cooking pot, the word Kutchie (which was used by the original artist, the Mighty Diamonds) is about a chalice where ganga (weed) is kept.
