I'm trying to find out what were the major sports during the eighties , or the major or most known players on any sport during the eighties .
Thanks,
Johnnattan. Please answer as soon as possible.

This is a rather unusual question, Johnnattan. Most of the sports that are popular now were just as popular then, but a lot of the people have changed, of course. Try these names: TENNIS-- Boris Becker, Pat Cash, Martina Navratilova; GOLF-- Greg Norman, Seve Ballisteros, Jan Stephenson. MOTOR RACING-- Ayrton Senna (or was he the 90s?), Wayne Gardner (500cc bikes).

All the four major leagues were big in the eighties. As far as stars, Bird and Magic in the NBA (with Jordan at the end of the decade), Joe Montana in football, Gretzky and Lemeuix in hockey, and Clemons, Gooden, Rose and Kirk Gibson in baseball would all be starting points but there is a case for dozens of others in each sport (and other sports -- Olympic sports for example) that other posters could add to.
