KC only had one song in the early 80s with the song "Please Don't Go". It was a duet with some gal. I can't remember her name right now.
If I remember correctly, I think VH1 had a Behind the Music episode with KC and the Sunshine Band. Lemme guess, he had some sort of drug or alcohol problem. Everyone on that show had some sort of problem.

Cornboy,
Actually, KC had two hits in the early '80s. The song you're thinking about is a remake of the Barbara Mason song "Are You Ready" with Teri DeSario that came out in '79 I believe. His other '80s hit was "Give it Up" in '83 and that was a solo effort although it winds up on the KC & The Sunshine Band compilations, and his last top 40 hit.

P.S. It was Tommy Page that sang "Shoulder To Cry On."

I thought the name of the song was "Yes, I'm Ready".
By the way...are there any compiliations or anything that have that song on it? I'd been driven crazy for months, trying to figure out what the darn song was, and when I found out FINALLY (a few months ago) what it was I didn't have a clue as to how to get the song. I thought I had it recorded off some radio program that used to be on local radio, but I haven't been able to find it. :(
So...could anyone help me with this? Please? I'd love to have this song because it's one of those songs that gets stuck in my head ALL the time. I love love love love love it.
(or maybe point me in the direction of a *shhhh* MP3????)

It is "Yes, I'm Ready," sorry Diane I got sloppy with the title. I have the 45 on T.K Records. I believe it was on both a K.C. and a Teri DeSario album, unfortunately I don't think this is on most of the K.C. greatest hits comps., however there are so many different ones out there, you might get lucky. Teri DeSario is now a contemporary Christian singer.
