Subject: apple ii game from early 80s

I've been looking for a game that I played back in the early 80s on an Apple iie system.
The game had no graphics. It used alphabet characters.
The game involved moving "blocks" around in an attempt to trap "beasts" that relentlessly chase you around. If they touch you the game is over.
The game speed was such that each "beast" moves one space per cycle. While you could move 2 (I think).
Does anybody remember this game? Please email me if you do as I don't know if I can find my way back to this board again! :-[
