Subject: chocolate bar
Written By: dan on 03/31/04 at 08:10 a.m.
ok, there was this chocolate bar i used to eat in toronto, canada. it was in two square pieces, about half as high as across. it had wafers with peanut butter and grape jelly between them, covered in chocolate. i think it was called CRUNCHWICH, but i cant find any mention of it anywhere on the net. i also have an image of this bar taking off into space in the tv ad.
does anybody remember this??

I'm from Toronto, and I don't remember that bar at all. Canada does/did have some products that the states didn't, but that's one I don't remember at all.

Yes, Crunchwich did exist. I think it was made by Cadbury. I even remember the commercial, which featured someone with a robotic voice. I wasn't on the market for a long time, so that's why some people don't remember it.

Grape jelly and chocolate sounds like a losing combination, but Cadbury makes some great products. The British sure know their sweets!
Their higher end pure chocolate bars are fantastic, and Cadbury Cream Eggs will always have a place in my heart.
When I was traveling through Britain in '91, I liked to stop at newstands and get a trashy paper like "The News of the World," a can of ginger beer, and a Cadbury Double Decker bar. Do they still make those Double Decker bars? You can't get them in the U.S. They were cheap and tasty.
"Veddy, veddy Cadbury..."
