Subject: the EPILADY hair remover..ouch!!
Does anyone here, especially the women, remember the EPILADY hair removal gadget? The thing worked by PULLING THE HAIR OUT rather than cutting it! I know people who used it-I'd hear them cuss and scream in pain when they were doing their underarms and legs!! >:( OUCH! :'( Thank god for shavers!! Who needs the TORTURE inflicted by this Epilady contraption? :-

Yeah I remember too. I think the ad campaign said something like "no pain, no gain".
The EpiladyŽ was actually invented by a female soldier in the Israeli armed forces. She made the original one using the recoil spring from an automatic weapon. True story.
EpiladyŽ is still in business, but instead of the PAINFUL spring, they use spinning discs.

I had the epilady...2 round coils that spin around and RIP your hair out of your follicles and sometimes your first layer of skin. :o If you ask me now the hair removal systems say there is no pain, but there is. However, nothing has hurt as bad as Epilady. :-[
Subject: Re: the EPILADY hair remover..ouch!!
That was a repressed memory I tried to forget :o

I know a few people who tried these and not only got the pain but problems with ingrown hairs also so gave up.
Subject: Re: the EPILADY hair remover..ouch!!
??? ???I thought the pain was due to my not using it right, maybe not.Anyway,I donated mine to Goodwill.Cheers!

Nair hair remover is bad for some people too!I used it once and ended up with a burning rash on my underarms AND my legs!! I had to use Aloe Vera moisturizer for a while to stop the burn and heal the rash. I've learned to stay FAR away from stuff like Nair, and stick to my disposable razors!

Probably not since most of the modern day torture devices are created by MEN for Women
