I saw that they were coming out with them, but I haven't compared closely.
But from what I've seen the new SS dolls seem more hip-hop than it was in the 80's.

I prefer the 80's style dolls, but the new isn't bad.  They wanted to market her as more of a real kid.  it's cool that you can buy stuff for your own daughter.  Sales seem to be doing well for the new version strawberry shortcake, care bear, my little ponys.  Also cabbage patch kids are making a comeback. They are going to be more like they were in the 80's including packaging in the box.

I was referring to Blazing Saddles in the scene in which Hedley Lamarr is asking all the miscreants in line for the marauding about their crimes:
"Stampeding cattle..."
"That's not much of a crime..."
"Through the Vatican!"
"Ki-nk-y!"

THE NEW DOLLS HAVE A NEW UPDATED FEEL TO THEM , MY KIDS ARE 5 AND 9 AND THEY PASS THEM UP EVERY TOY ISLE WE GO TOO. THE CARE BEARS THE 5 YEAR OLD LOVES THE 9 YEAR OLD SHES INTO LISA FRANK STUFF ART/CRAFT STUFF. TOYS TODAY STAND SADLY ALONE THEN THE 80'S I COLLECT 70'S AND 80'S TOYS AND MAYBE PICK UP ONE OR TOO THINGS TODAY. BUT TOYS  TODAY,ARE SADLY WHAT THEY WEREN'T THEN. PROBABLY BECAUSE THE 80'S WERE MORE LINEAR AND LESS ENDLESS UNLIKE THEY ARE TODAY.
