How do you pronounce that?
Don't forget, Annabella Lwin of Bow Wow Wow. She was born in Burma as Myant Myant Aye. Why would she forsake a name like that going into show biz?
Off-topic, but a NH native can't help thinking, when it comes to double names, of a woman named Dudley Dudley. She was in the state legislature in the '70s, and remains active in NH Democratic politics. Not sure what the story is, I think her given name was the unenviable "Dudley," and then she got hitched to a man named Dudley. Here in Amherst, we had a select board member named Dolly Jolly, wife of local businessman Jerry Jolly. Not double, but doubly funny.
The literary world gives us
Jerome K. Jerome and William Carlos Williams. An artsy progressive rock group is now going under the latter's name.
The Muslim patronymic frequently churns out double names, such as Ali Ali, or JFK assassin, Sirhan Sirhan. That's who I thought of when I first heard of Duran Duran!
