That would be a huge list!!

Wasn't that one of the things re: Cabbage Patch Kids no 2 dolls were exactly alike or shared the same name?

I had 3..
Anastasia Alba (kid)
Renita Karbel (premie)
Leslie Noelle (baby)

Where they got some of those names I'll never know!!

TEXT were you looking for the names they gave the kids who appeared in the storybooks or the everyname they used for "adoptable' kids?
I think it was a computer generated list AtoZ that matched any name with any other name for the kid in question. And half the time to our 80's style, the names were terribly old fashioned. I think mine was called Mabel and I renamed her Deja.  Lovely, eh? Ah, I was 10, so sue me I didn't like mabel.
Mind you this is an opinion about the computer, but most likely it is probably a lot like licence plates.  Random matching of names--But I have no proof.

Mine was Anita Mavis.  I changed it to Emily Christina.  They are supposed to come back out with CPK dolls like the 80's ones, packaging and all.  Not like what they are making now.  I think no two had the same name or looked alike.  That's alot of "kids"!

An urban myth persisted that Cabbage Patch Kids were designed to look like children deformed by irradiated chromosomes.  Society needed to teach children to accept hideous birth defects in case the gene pool was poisoned by atomic war.
This, of course, was stone bullsh*t.
;D

I always thought the Garbage Pail Kids cards were fairly amusing...

PS. I went searching for the info you're after, but got only as far as - cabbagepatchkids.com - but that doesn't have the names of the little freaks (don't the owners give them individual names or something?).

Yikes, this is all too disturbing (see that web site above for more strange imagery and info).

Awwww - Cr*p!

I always prefered that myth! I figured it was as good a reason to have those ugly little buggers around as any other I'd heard.

Thanks for spoiling it for me!   ;) ;D

Alzo, Cabbage Patch Kids was the only toy I remember grown ups beating eachother up to get.  There was some grievous bodily harm done as crazed moms fought for the dwindling dolly spoils, including broken legs, facial lacerations, and fractured ribs.
There was similar hysteria over Tickle Me Elmo and Beanie Babies, but I only remember violence occuring with CPKs.

Me and a friend were talking about cpk names the other day, and she rememebered the myth that the names were taken off the headstones of graves.  My cousin worked at Toys r Us at that time and she said people were insane!!!!!  punching, kicking, hitting........
