Anyone else notice how Punk in the Supermarket by Adam Ant sounds very much like Syd Barrett?

Yeah, I have a little bit, but I haven't heard the song in ages so I'd have to find it again and listen to it.

PLEASE Tell me you are an Antfan!!!!! I haven't really found anyone here yet who actually likes Adam and the Ants!! Except me anyways. I was losing hope until I saw this post. Don't let me down!!! j/k ;D. It would be great to have someone else to commiserate with once in awhile except the guy I date!

Hey!  I'm not hating Adam (with or without the Ants)!  I've always enjoyed their stuff!  I saw him in concert in 1984 (the Strip tour).  Phenomenal performer!

I would have loved to see him in concert, if only I was old enough!!

But yeah, I am trying to find some Antfans around and build up his popularity again, if thats possible. I think he really is one of the worlds few natural performers, he was born to make music and entertain, he has even said he only gives 100% of himself when he gets onstage.

I hope he can get well soon and try to make some more music soon. I would love to meet him someday, but I'll just keep dreaming about it!

Hi Rio Rhodes! Have you seen Drop Dead Rock starring Adam Ant and Deborah Harry? I have recently started to get into Adam and The Ants so you can count me as a fan. :D

I know it is listed on sites as a song he has done, but yeah, I can check it out for you and I'll also give it another listen as soon as I get my hands on a copy.

I haven't seen Drop Dead Rock yet but I have seen a lot of his other movies and his two concerts he has on video/DVD.

If you get a chance watch Love Bites and Trust Me. He is really good in those movies!

Its awesome to hear you are getting into him!!!!!!!!!!!
I started over a year ago and I am completely addicted to him now!!

I just hope the antpeople keep crawling out of the woodwork, no matter what I have to do! I know there are more than just the ones I've seen on his websites.

Another Ant fan here! I'm not familiar with that song though.

You should definitely check Adam out in the movie "Nomads" from 1986. It's a fantastic flick, seriously spooky and weird.
Highly recommended

I hope this helps cagesundercage...
Punk in the Supermarket was a song he did in the late 70s. It was only a B-Side to a single he had released, I can't remember which, so it wouldn't be on any album listings. If you go onto any Ant site, especially Carty's website---

I am a big Adam Ant fan.  Kings of the Wild Frontier is one of my favorite albums of all time.  I also love Vive Le Rock.
Adam Ant has unfortunately had some psychologic problems lately and was arrested not long ago.  Let's all send some good thoughts his way.   :)
