Subject: zipper dresses
Okay, does anybody remember these dresses? Mine was black, long sleeved, about knee length with several zippers on it? I would love to see a picture of one again! Anybody else have one of these dresses?

Mine was also black - just above knee length, long sleeves, loads of zips all over it - big chunky silver ones.
I cant work out how to describe the collar. I am sure I have several pics where I am wearing it but my photo albums are all still in storage after my house move.
It was like a boat neck - scooped ? but stood up straight like it wanted to be a turtleneck.
Argh - I will have to get the pics out of storage !!

That sure sounds like it! Tried to look for a photo of one on the internet, but couldn't. Thanks for the reply!

I had one of those too...here's link to a pic from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2886685490&category=48870 and also http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2887434477&category=46802..but it was hard to find, since most zipper dresses nowadays are for strippers or sexy wear.

I had one of those. But mine was made out of some sort of latex kind of material. :P
Subject: Re: zipper dresses
Alot of the ones out now are latex and some type of shiny vinyl-y looking material. Or do you mean spandex?

I don't think it was spandex. Maybe it wasn't latex but more of a soft leather like material. It's hard to describe. I purchased that dress around 88 or 89. But it was the same style like those zipper dresses with sleeves and one zipper that went down the front. :)

Mine was made of a really heavy cotton - as close to denim as I could describe. It was a real bulky dress.
Subject: Re: zipper dresses
If I remember correctly they also had HUGE shoulder pads. But I remember the denim ones were really popular in high school.
Subject: Re: zipper dresses
Oh my god! I used to have a turquoise zipper dress that had the shoulder pads. Back then, I thought I looked sexy with my big hair, big earrings, and zipper dress. Now, I would cringe at the thought... Ewwwwwwwww. LOL ;D

We were sexy dressed like that in the 80s! Now a days, they would laugh us out of the bars.
