They had that one really good hit song, " Send me an Angel " in 83, I think...or 84. Anyone remember this song?

That whole album is great--if you like cheesy '80s synth pop, which I do--the followup single, "Catch Me I'm Falling" didn't do as well, but was a cute song. They were big on melodramatic lyrics and incorporated violin in with their synths and drum machines.
I bought the follow up album, "Flame," in '86, had a few good songs, but not as good as the first, "Heartland."
The last song I heard by the was "God Tonight" from about 1990. What a joke.
I mentioned the song "Babies" in the cheesy '80s songs thread. Worth looking up the lyrics for the humor, sad thing is they didn't even write the song.

I thought Pretty Poison sang Catch Me I'm Falling...the Send Me an Angel song I remember thinking it could have been the Pet Shop Boys, but it wasn't.

Send Me An Angel was/is great. :) Shame that Real Life didn't make bigger hits.
They released Send Me An Angel '89 afterwards, but that version isn't as good as the original.
