Subject: New order
During the Live Aid gig, the singer from New Order forgot the Words to the song or was it done with purpose?
I think the guy was so stoned he did not suss he was supposed to come in.
Whats your thoughts on the matter?

New Order was in Live Aid? I didn't know that. Must have missed them. I image Bernard forgot the lyrics because he was drunk or something. They were notoriously bad live. I loved their '80s albums, but those guys were pricks, no two ways about it!
The embarrassing moment I remember from Live Aid was Howard Jones trying to get the crowd to participate in the chorus of "No One is to Blame." I was a HoJo fan also, but sometimes no one is too lame! :D

New Order wasn't at Live Aid. Perhaps you're confusing them with Style Council or someone like that? ???

Don't pay any attention to the misinformation from the first response. New Order was not in Live Aid and they are awesome in live gigs. Just listen to any of their bootlegs or their Peel Sessions and BBC1 recordings. I cannot confer to the band's overall attitude since I do not know them personally, but they seem like rather cool people from their interviews.

I vaguely recall that Paul McCartney rather embarrassingly forgot some of the words to "Hey Jude" at the end of Live Aid. I think. And Phil Collins played a real bum note on the piano during the Philadelphia gig in "Against All Odds" and 2 billion people went "Owwww!".
