Great song, the 2 guys hopping in FYC were originally in the English Beat.

Now you people are also betting.. just like I did ;)
I still have not found the videoclip from the fine young cannibals, also the Kazaa-users don't have it. Does anyone where I can check this video on-line or download it?

That sure sounds like New Order's True Faith to me. A totally Avant Garde piece of film. Dont forget some of the other imagery in that video.....
-Those same two guys (I think) slapping each other in the face to the beat of the music, eventually one slugs the other in the gut
-Asian woman with deadpan expression dressed in something like a turtle costume interpreting one of the verses in sign language
-more guys in weird costumes jumping up and down on a trampoline
What an odd video. I wonder if Cirque du Soliel got some of their ideas from this piece.

I liked New Orders "Confusion" video. Very grainy and minimal. It featured two girls getting ready to go to a NYC nightclub. This was cut in with footage of Arthur Baker packing up the reel with the song "Confusion" on it, and taking it to the club in a cab. He then gives the reel to the club DJ, who the plays it. No slick imagery, no lip syncing, no flesh, no glitz. 8)

You're initial description also sounds like New Order's 'True Faith' to me.

That was Madness, The song "One step beyond"
Subject: Re: Which band and what song?
I'd try New Order first, then FYC.
