Subject: Looking For A song Title and or the Singer

Written By: Felix L. Kayeyi on 12/06/03 at 10:42 a.m.

I am not sure who sung the song and the title of the song. All I rember about the song is that the song was sung by a woman. I first saw a TV clip where she was seated looking through the window in a train singing the song. Part of the lyrics I remember go as follows:

After every morning I
Look out the window and I
Wondering what to say
You left me a lone ..... while
Closing the door, I didn't stand in your way

Cause I loved you more than I
Needed you before the night
We .... left for co...
Closing doors

CHORUS
Cause you left me just when I needed you most
Oh baby, you left me just when I needed you most.

etc etc etc.

If anyone knows the title and or the singer of this song, please let me know. If possible, how I can buy the CD/Tape/Video/DVD whetever.

Just When I Needed You Most

You packed in the morning
I stared out the window
And I struggled for something to say
You left in the rain without closing the door
I didn't stand in your way
Now I miss you more
Than I missed you before
And now where I'll find comfort, God knows
'Cause you left me
Just when I needed you most
Yes, you left me
Just when I needed you most
Now most every morning
I stare out the window
I think about where you might be
I've written you letters that I'd like to send
If you would just send one to me

'Cause I need you more
Than I needed before
And now where I'll find comfort, God knows
'Cause you left me
Just when I needed you most
Yes, you left me
Just when I needed you most

You packed in the morning
I stared out the window
And I struggled for something to say
You left in the rain without closing the door
I didn't stand in your way

Now I love you more
Than I loved you before
And now where I'll find comfort, God knows
'Cause you left me
Just when I needed you most
You left me
Just when I needed you most
Oh, you left me
Just when I needed you most

I found those lyrics but the only female singer I found that sung this song was Dolly Parton. Not sure if that's who you are looking for.  ???

The song may have been covered, but it was orignally sung by Randy Vanwarmer in 1977.  Just in case you were wondering!   :)

A little personal trivia about this song.  I went to high school in Northern California with the guy who actually wrote it.  His name is Gerry Davenport.  He was young when he wrote it--no more than 15 or 16.  He sold the song for a nominal fee, as I recall, and it went on to become a fairly good-sized hit in the US.  He was musically pretty darn talented and a nice guy as well.

Oh, and the album it appeard on was a 1979 release, not 1977 as stated earlier.
