What in the world happened to this mag...
anyhoo....they had a pen pal section who I used to communicate religiously with. Then times changed and I lost contact with a bunch of very influential friends. Would love to try and search for friends from 15+ years ago...any info would be great.
Thanks
Troy

I used to read both Star Hits and Smash Hits. I didn't know they were one in the same. What's the difference? I now get old copies of Smash Hits whenever I can from eBay.
Smash Hits is still around and it still caters to the same crowd (young teenage girls who dribble over cute guys) only the music has gotten worse. Duran Duran and Wham! have given way to 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys and God knows whatever crappy teenybop boy bands are out there. I miss the Smash Hits of the 80's. At least the artists they were writing about were good, unlike now. I probably wouldn't have known or remembered some of the groups I do now if it weren't for reading Smash Hits.

I use to buy both the UK and Aus Smash Hits.
I loved the penpal section too !! In fact I am still best friends with my swedish penpal who I started writing to in early 1988 via Smash Hits. We have met each other heaps of times since then too.
I still have a few issues - any that featured Mr Mannix !!
