Subject: identify these boys toys
Hi,
I am trying to find out the name of this toy in the eighties i played with...... it was a plastic toy dirt bike about 6"-8" tall with a man on it that you could position him different ways, you placed the bike in a "cradle" that you would wind up on the side and then hit a button and it would go and do stunts like wheelies. It was NOT the evel kinevel bike. It was like a dirt bike.
Another toy im looking for the name of is....a small motorcycle about 2"-3" that you would feed a plastic geared "rip cord" into the back wheel and pull the "rip cord" out and the wheels would spin and the motorcycle would go. the "rip cord" had a ring on the end for your finger to fit into and was red i think..
HHHEELLLLPPPPPP PLEASE...its one of those things that will drive me crazy until i find the answers

I actually had a variant of this toy in the mid 1970's. And if I remember correctly it was the original Evil Kneivel action doll set.

I think the ones with the rip-cords were called SSP Racers.

I had the one that you pull the plastic cord through the gears real fast and let go. I also had the one that you set the bike on a stand with a pump, pump it up and release the bike. I cant remember the names of either one of them.

Sorry to be unable to help you locate or name those toys but
that brought back a happy flashback. I too had one of those ripcord Motorbike toys. I wouldn't mind having one of those today. :D
