Subject: Favorite 80s Christmas specials?
What are yours? One of my favorites is Alf's Special Christmas in 1987. It has some really funny moments like when Alf gives Willie poison oak and he thinks it's holly, and some really sad moments like when Alf meets a girl in the hospital who has a terminal illness. I like it when television shows can be both funny and sentimental.

I liked It's a Bundyful Life w/ Sam Kinison as the Christmas spirit.
I liked the classics too. Rudolph, Frosty and the Grinch (animated).

I remember a Charlie Brown Christmas, Garfield Christmas, and oh my gosh I can not remember.

What was the Spielberg one from 1985 in which a bitter old man meets Santa Claus and, in the end, gets the fire engine he wished for when he was a kid but never got?
I remember Santa saying: "Sometimes even Santa Claus makes mistakes." and the closing shot of the guy holding the fire engine and looking up into the night sky. I thought that one was neat.
As for the classics we watched every year growing up, hmmm... I prefered Frosty to Rudolph.

Pee-Wee fan.
Subject: Re: Favorite 80s Christmas specials?
A Christmas Story is great (poor Ralphie) and Rudolph's Shiny New Year. Little baby new year (Happy) with the big ears is too cute!
Subject: Re: Favorite 80s Christmas specials?
My all time favorite is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I love that movie! A Christmas Story is also very good. These are both a family tradition.

HANDS DOWN...
CLAYMATION CHRISTMAS...
Between the California Raisins rendition of Rudolph, or the hilarious "Ringing of the Bells" skit...nothing compares.

Emmett Otter...rofl..have not heard that in a long long time.
My older brother liked to play like the wolf and would terrorize me screaming "RIVER BOTTOM NIGHtMARE BAND!!!"
looking back, its funny, but he sure scared me to death with that.
