Ok, I've just looked at all the 80's toys listed and can't find the one I had. These were little animal dolls. A mother and a baby. They came in deer, butterflys, horses, not sure what else. Mother had mane and tail (horse) that you could brush, arms were always straight out on the sides. The babies would just have a mane, the butterlfy baby only had painted on hair. Pearly and glittery colors. The butterflies were pink/blue/purple. The horses were purple/blue I think with purple hair. The deer were yellow. The mothers were all just a tad bit smaller than the My little pony were. I just can't remember what the name of them were, Any help would be great Thanks!

It sounds like it could be some of the Shimmers made by Kenner.

Oh, I remember those. I also remember the mermaids that were sort of like that. (they had different colors and their hair matched their fins) :)
