This one's for the British. :D Does anyone remember the TV game show called Pop Quiz which had pop groups competing against each other answering questions? I know Duran Duran were part of it, and I think even The Smiths were as well! Anyone know where I might find information and especially old clips of it? Your help would be greatly appreciated!!

Used to be slotted in after 'Grandstand' on Saturday afternoon/evenings before BBC1's big Saturday night schedules started...

Old clips? Well, not sure where you'd head for that! I would imagine the entire batch of programmes still exists in the BBC VT archive...wouldn't know if they could help, sorry! Or, perhaps TV Cream may be able to help in some way...try mailing them on the above homepage...

I remember watching pop quiz.  I think the usual format was three or four to a team from different bands.  I remember Patti Smith being on it (I'd just heard Because The Night and loved it which is why I remember that).  The only round I can remember is the lyrics round which came at the end.  There was probably a picture of some description.

The Duran Duran one was a special 'battle of the bands' with Duran Duran forming one team and Spandau Ballet the other.

Have you tried the BBC website (www.bbc.co.uk)  They have a cult TV section and message board and there may be more info there (but people can't post other web sites that they know about so its a bit limited that way)

I remember it !

I still have the boardgame  - I found whilst cleaning my attic out a few months ago. On the cover it has Mike Read with his huge seventies style glasses and a very young Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot before he was in Curiosity Killed The Cat !!
