Subject: Anyone remember these sodas?

I can't remember the exact name for them. It might of been called New York Sodas or something along that line because on the bottles there was a drawn out picture of Manhatten's skyline. The soda was usually clear or light in colour and they came in an assortment of different flavors--a lot of fruit flavored ones. There was black cherry, root beer, probably cream soda.....I think my favorite was black cherry.

I remember those New York Seltzers. I always thought they tasted bad. My sisters and I would pretend it was beer cuz in our minds that's what beer tasted like.

You bet I remember N.Y. Seltzer!  When I was a senior in H.S., I was in the T.V. Media class and we had to form groups and each group had to make a commercial for the seltzer.  Our teacher had all the flavors and we got to try the product that we were making a commercial for.

My groups video won the state finals, but not the national finals.  Our prize was a AM/FM/Cassette walkman and a N.Y. Seltzer sweatshirt with glow-in-the dark writing.  It was really cool at the time....  ;D

I have the commercial on a BETA tape somewhere....

New York Seltzers were sure a cool trendy item in the 80s.  They were kind of funky almost like Ben & Jerrys. I really liked their lemon lime soda and thought it was better then sprite or 7up.  It seems like they had an almond flavor that was pretty good too.

Did one of the NY Seltzer bottles have a hot pink and black label? I think I remember...?

By the way, in the late 80's to '90, I worked in a natural food/vitamin store and we sold Snapple. It was WAAY before Snapple caught on big and was seen everywhere! Snapple also made all natural sodas, not just iced tea.
