Subject: Steve Perry

Did any of you guys actually see Journey with Steve Perry?  I've recently gotten hold of some footage and that man was amazing!  Also, I got his "Street Talk" album and must say that its one of the better 80's albums!  What do you guys think?  I'd love to hear any Journey/Steve Perry stories!

Hi cyclonus5150!
I have a lot of the "bootlegs" of Perry and Journey and I'm with you. The man is my all time great. His voice is magical. His singing, "Somethin' To Hide" is like a music lesson. The last note of that song gives me goosebumps.
The girls at Perryville are loaded with everything you need to know about him.

I caught them on the Escape tour and was impressed by the voice, but I have to say that I distinctly recall walking away from the show less than satisfied with his stage presence. Perhaps I caught them on a bad night, but it was clear that there were tensions on the stage (I got over the disappointment rather quickly when I discovered, upon leaving the show, that someone had mistaken my jacket for theirs and had stuffed my pockets with, er, a Ziploc baggie of a certain herbal remedy. Ah, high school).

When you consider that Journey's had 18 core members since its inception, it's a shame not to give the new Steve a chance. I've enjoyed seeing him the last couple of times.
