I recently came to know that Alexa Kenin (Pretty In Pink) was killed in 1985 (what a waste! she had talent). Was anyone convicted for her murder? Being a celebrity murder case was it big news when it happened? (I was too young to remember)

Thanks for the info. Does she have any brothers or sisters who are in the movie biz? Are there any other 80's stars who met with such untimely deaths?

There's the infamous story of Rebecca Schaefer who was on a TV show called My Sister Sam. She was shot on her doorstep by a maniacal stalker in 1989. You should see the televised interview footage of him. He was beyond creepy!!

Also, I believe the girl who played the eldest daughter in the first Poltergeist film was beaten to death by her boyfriend before the sequel started filming.

Does John Lennon count? I know he was murdered in 1980 by Mark David Chapman, and so he's not exactly an 80's star, but he did meet his unfortunate demise at the hands of another person.

I don't think Lenon can be counted as an 80's star but the other two yes. Anyways the Rebecca Schaefer thing was really creepy.
