No, you're not weird! I don't really listen to Hall and Oates that much, but I think I know why you're asking if you're weird... because you like 80s music like that. Don't worry, I'm only 14 and I am in love with a LOT of 80s music. ;D

Hey, now that's a band I haven't heard in ages. I only liked a couple of songs that they did. "Method Of Modern Love" and "Family Man". :)

Hall and Oates were a band that I have only just started listening to as I got put off by the really awful 'Method of Modern Love' (sorry Secret Squirrel).
However, I recently re-heard 'Kiss on my list' not knowing who it was by initially - that brings back memories . . .

If you ever get the chance to see them do "Private Eyes" on SNL, they looked cool and sounded great!

Robert Hall & John Oates were on the border between 2 very popular forms of music.
As the Disco fad died, most of the country was left with very little to listen to. John Lennon had died, and one of the first groups to stand out was Hall & Oates.
Their sound was a precursor to the New Wave era. A true "Super Group" of the time, they were constantly on the Top 10 lists in the early 1980's.
I was a DJ at a roller rink thin those days, and I probably played them more then any other one artist during that time (Other then maybe Abracadabra by Steve Miller Band).
I have been a fan of theirs for years, and even though I got teased for it, I still pull out my CDs on occasion and play them. :)

I dont think you are weird just intelligent that you recognize great music that was a little before your time.Their blend of "rock'n soul is legendary. We Philadelphians are so proud to be from the same place as the dynamic duo.

Hall & Oates was the best! I still listen to all their stuff.
I'm a former Philadelphian just like Child of the 80s and I feel the same way. You are not weird, you just know great music when you hear it.
