That's totally awesome!  I wish we had one at my school!  But then I guess if they did, people wouldn't think i'm so weird.

We had an 80s club at my high school too.  Oh wait... the whole school was an 80s club.  I graduated in 1984.  Geez...

It's great to see you all have an appreciation for something other than your current era.  Without our past, there is no present!

^LOL, stingr22.  I didn't graduate high school in 1984, but I can kinda relate to those thoughts and how you feel since I did start my freshmen year of high school in the Fall of 1989.

When I was in my junior and senior years of high school back in 1992 and 1993 I remember we had a 70's club.  It dovetailed really well with the then emerging Grunge scene, which had it's asthetics straight out of the 1970's.  It was basically just a cool sorta retro gig for kids then, the flavor of the moment, and I imagine high school kids now in 2003 see their 80's club in the same way.  It's just a retro thing for them.

When I was growing up all our retro stuff was always pre-80's.  We never did any retro stuff for the 80's or 90's for the obvious reasons.  The 1920's, 30's, 40's were all fair game, and ofcourse the traditional 50's, 60's and 70's.  But back then in the early 90's, it would have been waaay too early to try an 80's club, people would have thought you were nuts.  No one wanted to talk about the 80's anymore.  It's like a high school starting a 90's club today.
